Our story
Who are we?
Accessible Inclusive Music (AIM) is a registered charity (1203866) set up in 2021 by Sarah whose son is passionate about music and disabled with a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.
AIM is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers with a range of skills and experiences in teaching, music, SEND and disability. Sarah (our chair and founder) is a qualified secondary music teacher, and she has previously ran a successful inclusive music tuition business.
What do we offer?
Inclusive choir
Our online choir is accessible is all children and young people under 18, those who are disabled or have additional needs and those who don’t consider themselves disabled or to have additional needs, therefore ideal for the whole family!
Participants can join in, in a way that best suits their capabilities, singing, signing, playing an instrument, moving to the music, or using an eye gaze or switch. This activity is currently free to participants and is at 5pm on a Tuesday. As it is online it is available to all children across the UK, not just in West Yorkshire.

Future plans
With the appropriate funding some of our next steps include providing subsidised specialist music lessons with experienced practitioners. Where needed, we’ll also provide adapted instruments. We would also love to set up an additional online choir for young people aged 16 to 25.
Other opportunities
Previously we have organised a virtual Christmas video project and collaborated with the Leeds based charity SNAPS Yorkshire to provide in person inclusive choir sessions. More recently we have organised a series of workshops with Bradford and Airedale Youth choir.
